I have a much, much dumber hypothesis about why impact markets haven't worked: impact equity isn't competing against other "let's do funding better" ideas, it's _actually_ competing against, "I bought my name engraved in stone on the side of a building."

I would, in all seriousness, consider literally subsidizing sending people who do impact cert investments things that look like very-high-quality plaques/deal toys/whatever that they can hang on their wall, place on a shelf, whatever, as physical tokens of an abstract bet.

We’ve done some relatively early (ie ~10 years ago) work on this re: nontraditional funding structures, though we may now be behind the curve. Still, I’d love to talk with you about both the texture of the problem definition and the gaps in allocation space of the current mechanics. Let me know if this is interesting!
